Set up a passkey
Account securityAdd a passkey to sign in to xTriel with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, a device PIN, or a security key. Once added, the passkey replaces your password and emailed sign-in code for that login.
1 · Before you start
- Sign in at app.xtriel.com/login with your xTriel password and the emailed code when requested.
- Use an up-to-date browser and a device with a screen lock, PIN, or biometric sign-in enabled. A security key must support storing discoverable passkeys and a PIN or biometric verification.
- Keep access to your account email for recovery. If you do not remember your current xTriel password, use Forgot password? on the login page first.
A passkey is a sign-in credential. Your Profile → Ingest token connects MT5 Reporter and upload tools; it is not the credential entered on this page.
2 · Add your passkey
- Open Passkeys. Go to Profile → Security → Manage passkeys or Settings → Sign-in security → Manage passkeys, or use the direct passkey setup link.
- Enter your current password. Fill the password field with your xTriel account password.
- Choose Add a passkey. Press it once, then follow your browser or device prompt. Choose where to save the passkey and confirm with your fingerprint, face, device PIN, or security key.
- Check the result. Wait for Passkey added. You can now sign in with it. and confirm the new entry appears in the passkey list.
Your device or passkey provider controls where the credential is stored and whether it syncs to your other devices.
3 · Sign in with it
At xTriel login, choose Sign in with a passkey and follow the device prompt. The passkey identifies your account, so you do not need to enter a password or emailed code for this method.
If you use an older security key that does not offer passwordless sign-in, first expand How do I add a passkey? on the login page. Enter your email and current password, then choose Use an older security key and follow the key prompt. The regular Sign in with a passkey option stays passwordless.
On a different device, use a synced passkey or the phone/security-key option offered by your browser. If the passkey is unavailable, use your password and emailed code instead.
4 · If setup does not finish
- Password confirmation fails: enter your current xTriel password. If you reset it, use the new password and sign in again before retrying.
- No passkey prompt or unsupported browser: update your browser, open the direct app link in its own tab, and confirm your device has a screen lock. Try Safari on iPhone/Mac or Chrome/Edge on a device with passkey support.
- You cancelled the device prompt: return to the page and try again. A cancelled prompt does not add a passkey.
- Your security key cannot store passkeys: new enrollment requires a discoverable passkey. Use a supported device passkey provider or a newer key that stores passkeys. Older non-discoverable keys already registered to your account can use the older-key sign-in option above.
- A PIN or biometric check is required: enable the device screen lock or your security key's PIN before retrying.
- The maximum number of passkeys is reached: remove an entry you no longer use, then add the new one. If too many attempts are reported, wait a few minutes before retrying.
If the issue continues, contact support with your browser, device type, and the exact error message. Keep passwords, emailed codes, and Ingest Tokens private.
5 · Recover or replace a passkey
- Sign in through another method. Use another available passkey, or your password and emailed code. If necessary, choose Forgot password? and complete the reset from your account inbox.
- Remove the lost credential. Open Manage passkeys and choose Remove beside the entry you no longer control. Removing an entry here revokes its xTriel access; your device provider manages its stored copy.
- Add a replacement. Enter your current password and follow the setup steps above on your new device.
If a passkey was added without your permission, reset your password immediately and contact support.
